How it Works

BroadBand Light gently heats the top layers of the skin, targeting areas of extra pigmentation to stimulate skin cell regeneration and collagen production. The photothermal energy reduces unwanted melanin (which produces pigmented lesions and discoloration) and eliminates fine vessels that cause redness. Excess pigment subsequently rises to the surface and sloughs off one to two weeks after the treatment. In addition to improving overall skin tone and smoothness, BBL® HERO™ helps improve skin elasticity and firmness. A single pass with the BBL® HERO™ handpiece addresses the skin’s overall appearance, while multiple passes using different wavelengths of light help correct pigmented lesions, skin flushing, and acne and may even result in the appearance of tighter skin.

Consultation

Your provider will complete an assessment and work closely with you to develop a personalized treatment plan. They will then go over the details and recommend the best way to achieve your desired results along with the number of treatments they recommend.

Treatment

The treatment itself is quick, as your provider will make a couple of passes over the treatment areas with the BBL® HERO™ wand. The device’s ComfortCool technology keeps skin cool and comfortable so numbing cream isn’t needed. Included in your BBL HERO treatment is the option for Pro-Nox™ to help safely minimize treatment pain, stress & anxiety.

Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling, use a gentle cleanser, apply SPF before being exposed to sun.

Avoid working out, sun exposure and applying makeup for 48 hours, avoid acids, retinol and exfoliants for 1 week post-treatment. Do not pick at the coffee-ground like scabs, let them slough off on their own.

Schedule treatment 2 weeks prior to a special event. Hydrate and moisturize treatment areas.

Avoid sun exposure for at least 3 weeks prior to treatment, cannot be treated with sunburn. Avoid Botox or fillers, or resurfacing treatments for at least 2 weeks prior.
